Questions
What is AAC?
AAC stands for augmentative and alternative communication — any way of communicating besides speech. ShoSpeak is a "speech-generating" AAC app: your child taps pictures, and the phone or tablet speaks the words out loud.
Who is ShoSpeak for?
Children and adults who are non-speaking, minimally speaking, or still developing speech — including many autistic children, and people with apraxia, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, or speech delays. It's simple enough for toddlers and flexible enough to grow with them.
Does it need the internet?
No. Talking works completely offline. The internet is only used to sign in and to back up and sync boards between devices.
Which devices does it work on?
iPhone and iPad first. An Android version for phones and tablets is planned for later. Each family member's profile looks the same on every device signed in to the account.
Is it safe for my child?
Yes. There are no ads, no chat with strangers, and no tracking. Settings, plans and editing can be protected by a PIN, and purchases always need a grown-up.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Plans are managed by the app store you subscribed through. On iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancel during the 7-day free trial and you won't be charged.
